A kind soul just left a comment informing me that “Eleanor Dapplegrey” - our beloved 1-800-Dentist lady is NOT really named Eleanor Dapplegrey at all. Her name is Suzi Barrett and she is a performer at our UCB here in Los Angeles! Awesome! I’ll be sure to check out a show next time I see her name, and I hope she will go on to do lots more! I think she is very funny! :-D

So, Eleanor.. I’m sorry but my memoirs of your life will have to be put on hold. ;) I also think that name would be GREAT as a character name!

Well, I apologize for the lack of updates lately. Been busy with website stuff. Not my own and not Rachel’s, but of another site I’m doing some freelance work with. Fixing up some images right now, and tweaking other things. I actually really enjoy doing this kind of stuff! I once had a job where I worked all day in a Clean Room, with a white smock and hoodie, inspecting and repairing microchips under a microscope. I loved it! So if any of you have any geeky tedious work you need done… I’m your girl! ;)

I’m planning a revamp of this site real soon. Actually I am changing domains. I am using my real name as my new domain, which will be: lisavoorhees.com. I’ll use lisa-lee.com as a parked domain and to redirect to my new one, so none of you will lose me.

I see our Miss Eleanor Dapplegrey has a new 1-800-dentist commercial out. In this one, she is telling the dentist how she loves cooking shows and will bake him a salad! ;) Seriously! It’s time! To get this woman a bunch more work! I will be president of her fan club! LOL!

So yea.. stay tuned to a new site, and more updates. Tax season has been good to me and I am very grateful for that! I needed the help and now I can relax a bit. Hope to find some steady work soon!

Today’s events: I won’t add to what has been said here: http://dannation.org/2009/03/05/1998-called-it-wants-its-clinton-prosecutor-back/ - as his writing speaks for all of us.

Why can’t we look past race, religion, sexual orientation, physical appearance, financial status, career, etc.. etc… and just see each other as PEOPLE?! Is it so much to ask? We’re not all about the color of our skin or what we look like or who we love or sleep with or what Divinity we worship or how much money we make or what kind of career we have. We’re all ONE, in God/Goddess/Great Spirit’s eyes. Why not treat each other the same way?

And that includes giving us all the freedom to marry WHO WE LOVE and want to share the rest of our life with.

Easier said than done, apparently. :( It sounds so simple.. but it’s not.

It will be a long road, I feel. One day, maybe, when we realize that there’s really no separation between us other than that which we ourselves impose.

I don’t know what it is but seems I always end up having dinner at the same time one of the CSI’s are on. And I always manage to be eating RIGHT during one of the grisly scenes. I’ve had several recent meals almost ruined this way!! ;-P

Guess I shouldnt be eating so late, eh? But I like to eat late. I like to get everything done, and then relax to a nice dinner. When I go out, I often times look forward to going out to a restaurant and having a meal and drinks AFTER a play or movie or whatever. I guess it’s like the big nightcap. I mean, I’m perfectly happy with an early dinner but I do love to at least go out and have coffee or drinks or something after an outing. I love to sit and relax and talk about what we just did or saw.

Most all my friends are morning people and like to eat early and do everything early and turn in before 11! I’m just getting STARTED at midnight! ;) I need friends who will accompany me on late night adventures, while my early-bird ones are asleep!! ;-D Anyone interested? Presently accepting applications. ;)

But I know it’s not the healthiest thing in the world to eat past 7 pm, so I really should try and have dinner earlier when I am at home. Trying to lose weight and actually I think (in fact I know this to be true) that skipping breakfast (which I do all the time because I’m never hungry when I just get up) is actually contributing to my weight gain. I’m going to start having some kind of breakfast, even if I have to force myself. And I’ll start having smaller meals more frequently. My tendency is to eat one huge meal a day, and then snack waaay late at night before bed.

And I havent been exercising, so there’s another thing I’ve been doing wrong. Time to get back in shape!! :)

And to my 2 favorite men in the whole world… Ben & Jerry …. I’m afraid it’s over between us. :( Except for your strawberry/banana frozen yogurt!! ;)

So ummm .. what will happen to “Girls Next Door” this next season? I’ll definitely watch Kendra’s new show in June, but not so sure I’ll be tuning in to Girls Next Door. I can’t stand those silly twins. :-/ I guess I’m just bitter. Ha! I dont think I like the revamped cast. Not feelin’ it. Blegh. Maybe it’s time for the show to call it quits and move on. Doesnt seem like it would be very good anymore. I think I heard Holly ends up leaving too.

A quick peek over at the E! boards for the show suggests that I’m not alone in not liking the twins and that the show won’t be the same.

Went to Asssscat tonight and had a great time, as I always do! Chad Carter didnt disappoint (he never does), and Horatio Sanz and Matt Walsh were there. There was also some lady there I’d never seen before but she was quite funny! I liked her!

Stood in line with some guys who were making comments about women that I found rather offensive. What’s up with men who just can’t be bothered to see past a woman’s physical attributes and into what REALLY counts? What’s going to matter in the end is NOT her outer appearance.

Not into men anyway, so it doesn’t matter to me personally. But some women are like that too. And I realize I may not be all that attractive, since I’ve gained weight (which I am working on losing, btw). But I have aLOT to offer someone in a relationship. Will that ever be noticed and appreciated though? Or will people only see an overweight woman and not bother to get to know me?

So yea. I found these men tonight rather repulsive, with their asnine comments about the women that were walking by. What jerks.

Not to mention I stood in line since 5:30, while all their friends cut in line in front of me. I’m not anal about getting the good seats but I’ll be damned if I am waiting in line all that time just to have people cut in line in front of me an hour and a half later after they’ve had a relaxing meal and drinks somewhere, while I’m starved and my feet are killing me.

There’s a song by that name, and I need to find it and get it on my ipod. Because this is how I have been feeling over the course of the past few days! :) Been having a great time, feeling renewed! This coming week, I am ready to kick some major employment ass! I’m even willing to relocate!

Minsky’s closes today. :( I was fortunate to see it twice- I went again last night! Both times waaaay up in the balcony. Good thing I’m not afraid of heights! ;)

Got to talk with Rachel a bit again too! :) I wish I had gone to one of the previews last month and I also wish the play was running a bit longer. I guess, when the Ahmanson says “closing on such and such date”, they aren’t fooling around! Usually a popular play will be extended by at least a week. Not at this theatre apparently. You’re out of here, baybee! Ahh well.

But I am sure it will make it to Broadway. Like I said, I’d be really surprised if it DIDNT. I hear possibly around Sept or in the Fall sometime. They will be doing some revamping and rewrites. Hopefully not too much, and leave Beula in tact please! Except you have my blessing to make her role bigger. Kthx. ;)

I overslept and so I am sitting here drinking my “morning” tea and posting Random Whateverness that comes to my mind. You’ve been forewarned..

I might go and see some Assss(cat) tonight. I love Chad Carter, my make-believe brother. I recently saw a photo of him where it’s a side view.. I swear, the resemblance is uncanny! But yea.. No matter what, if Chad is there, it will be a great show! You can count on it with him! I also love Andy Daly, but I havent seen much of him lately.

I really need to take classes. I was reminded recently that I’ve been putting it off. I won’t embarrass myself by telling you just how long I’ve said “I want to take classes”. A combo of finances but, I feel it’s mostly nerves- and that I use “lack of finances” as an excuse. Improv is scary! But it would be a challenge. Maybe I’d suck. Maybe I’d be awesome! ;) At the very very least, I can say “I tried”. If you can’t say that, you will never know what could have been, right?

So yea.. my plan is to take classes at UCB since that is the theatre I am most familiar with and would call “home”. After improv, I might take their sketch writing program. I will also look into Groundlings.

This year is going fast! I can’t believe it’s already March!

Have you noticed that, the older you get, the faster time goes? Please make it stop!! ;) I want to tell Father Time to take a valium! What would happen to all of us and to the world if he popped a chill pill?

Well, I need to get dressed and start my day. It’s 3PM. It’s safe to say I am a complete night owl. I won’t even tell you at what obscene time of night morning I finally went to sleep. ;)

File this under RACHEL DRATCH, in BIG letters! I saw Minsky’s! Yes finally!!  Let’s just say I’d be surprised if it DOESNT make Broadway. It’s very sparkly, very shiny (as Rain Man would say. haha). Good songs, excellent dance numbers, alot of really funny moments, and Rachel as “Beula” was awesome! :) Every single review I’ve read has mentioned that she steals the show! And that is the truth. I looked forward to the next time she would appear, and my only wish was that she had more stage time. Very funny! Her character was very much like “Debbie Downer”, and reminded me of her days on SNL. :)

I’d say GO and see Minsky’s but it’s only here in L.A until Sunday. And tickets are apparently sold out (a check of the ticket site reveals otherwise, but that’s what I heard as of late tonight). So go see it WHEN (not if) it hits Broadway. :)

I gave Rachel her bday card- a card I fell in love with and bought a few years ago especially for Rachel in the hopes I’d be able to give it to her one day. I saved it all this time. That day finally came and that card is now with it’s rightful owner. :)

I also got to talk with Rachel for a bit, which was really cool. :) I love her!

I’m so shy. I probably came off a bit quite dorky, but oh well. ;) Those of you reading me know I’m a big dork and you love me anyway, right?! ;)

It’s been like her unofficial official website over the past 4 years, due to it’s being the only one out there on her behalf. I really need to update it, add some fresh content and implement some new ideas I have for it.

Still trying to find some work. Anyone out there need a webmaster, personal assistant, or someone to help out with publicity? How about to walk your dog, do your grocery shopping, house-sit, babysit your 14 kids, or water your plants??? ;) Been doing some freelance projects and odd jobs. I did a mock trial this past week, which was very interesting but I can’t talk much about it until after the case is closed.

But yea.. been a bit depressed. Employment stuff (or lack thereof) and a few things going on in my personal life. But tonight and seeing/talking with Rachel… really really cheered me up. :) The sun shines again! Thanks, girl! And again.. Happy Birthday!
