For those of you looking for a browser alternative to Firefox or IE or Safari…
I’ve been using “Flock“, which is the same engine as Mozilla Firefox, only with social networking tracking added to it. I first heard about it through Flickr, and I ignored it for a long time but then decided one day to give it a try. I’ve used nothing else since!
The HOME page is the most useful home page I’ve ever experienced! You can have it track all your feeds and it will stream you the latest headlines right there. It will (on same page) track your Flickr account, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook… probably any of the social networks you might belong to. You will know who uploaded a YouTube video or posted on Twitter (if you follow them), or who updated their Facebook… all there on your HOME page.
It will also keep track of your favorite sites - the sites you go to often and the latest sites you’ve visited.
One of the features of the toolbar is the ability to alert you when you have received new email. You can set it up for as many email accounts as you’d like. I have mine set for GMail, since that is what I use the most and I have most all my other email accounts forwarded to there anyway.
The toolbar will also allow you to subscribe easily to feeds or media streams.
I’ve only touched the surface. I haven’t played around with all the settings, but this browser is phenomenal and I don’t know how I did w/o it for so long.
It’s basically Firefox with a shell, powered by Mozilla, so expect the same security and speed as you have come to know and love with Firefox..
Download it and give it a try!
